I. Introductions Agenda Additions & Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 8:03 a.m.
A. Introductions were made by attendees. Along with many new attendees to chamber and new SRG members
B. Host Introductions: Burgess Square
C. Approval of October Meeting Minutes without change

II. New Business
A lot of discussion addressed reviewing the SRC participation rules – vote on these at December meeting:
A. Need to attend at least 8 of 11 meetings/year with at least 4 in person in order for the SRG members to get to know you and your business
B. Expectation is that you will participate and be an active member of the group both during and in-between meetings
C. Need to attend and contribute to 3 consecutive meetings to be included in Westmont Spring Expo and in the SRG booklet
D. Mary with Nora & Maddy from Burgess Sq to manage the booklet

III. 2025 Scope of Work
Budgeting for next year coming up
A. include money to create SRC bags for events
B. Senior of the Year Award - Change nominating criteria to enable those who are a part of the Chamber but not Westmont residents to nominate
C. SRC booklet
D. Dementia Friendly
E. St. Patrick’s Day event at the Downers Park District
F. Spring Health Fair and Expo
G. Mayslake Expo
H. Other Expos – Darien, Oak Brook
I. Participate with local Police and Fire Departments (i.e, Open House, Car Show)
• Larry will send an email to the group requesting updates to Business information – hit reply all and include your updated contact information with links to FB, LinkedIn, etc. and Alyssa Vejendia will update this information

IV. Upcoming Event Updates
Mayslake Resident Expo Fall 2024
A. Will be held on November 7th from 9a-11a
B. Set up starts 8:30am on November 7, 1 table, 2 chairs/exhibitor
C. Larry to create posters to advertise to Mayslake residents
D. Sheri Kupres and Carol Magpayo coordinating the water/snacks
E. Thursday, November 14 – Proclamation for Dementia Friendly at the Chamber Meeting, 6pm at Westmont Village Hall. This is 5-year anniversary. Would like to have SRC members there to show support. Only there for roughly first 10 minutes of meeting
F. December, Frosty & Friends parade. Free to have vehicle in the parade, 45 minutes
G. 11/18 Faces of Dementia will be on display at Westmont Library

V. Old Business
A. Dementia Friendly:

Westmont Library has speakers the first Wednesday of every month
Westmont Memory Café is growing, was 8 members, now 16, Hinsdale is still a little slow in growing
Karin Knutson from Burgess is running a support group each month and getting 8 people attending on average

B. Westmont Park District Fall Program Sponsorship opportunities – Contact Alice Krampits if you are interested in sponsoring a program or placing an ad in the newsletter
• Alice’s information will be included in the SRG directory that Larry will be sending out.
• Bea Wolfe – email Bea if you would like to participate in educational presentations with Westmont Library

Westmont needs a list of topics that they will pick from
Caskets on Cass – won 2 awards, Dead Last and Best Theme. Very well received by the crowd! Most engaged with community. Plan to do it again next year with hopefully greater participation by SRG members.

VI. Next Meeting Dates and Locations
•December 6: sponsored by Clarendon Vision at the Westmont Chamber
• January 2025 – Claire Nawrocki & Nora Hernandez, Equitable Financial at their Oak Brook office
• February 2025 – Kerry Quirin, Senior Living Experts at Westmont Chamber
• March 2025 – Kelsey Haddad at Sunrise of Westmont
• Have a future meeting at the Westmont Police Station on N Cass, tour the station

The purpose of this committee is to promote chamber businesses/organizations whose products, services and resources are for senior citizens and their families. This committee will also keep like minded businesses informed on local resources that can be useful to them and to share business leads.
