2024 WCCTB Programs, Events & Services Overview
Introduction
Provided in this document are recommendations presented from our Chamber committees to provide specific Chamber programs, services and offer special events. These recommendations are designed and structured to serve Chamber membership, enhance the value of the Chamber and to support the goals and initiatives of our strategic plan as outlined below.

Westmont Chamber Mission
To promote, connect and support businesses and tourism in the Westmont area. The Westmont Chamber of Commerce and tourism Bureau is the:
- Source for new business relationships and community information
- Voice for identifying and expressing the concerns of business community
- Choice for promoting and marketing Westmont

The recommendations outlined are being presented from each Chamber standing committee and staff for review and approval by the WCCTB Executive Board and the WCCTB Board of Directors.
I. Business & Membership Development Services Committee
Responsibilities - Acts in support of WCCTB Membership growth, activation and retention. Provides support at Chamber activities in support positive member networking. This committee also covers Membership Growth and retention Campaigns, New Member Packets, Chamber Ambassador Program, Chamber Open House, Prospective and New Member events. Separate sub-committees may exist to handle details of specific programs, ie. Community Guide. This committee also covers Business Development & Growth initiatives.

Meets - 2nd Tuesday on January 9, March 12, May 14, July 9, September 10, and November 12 at 8:30 a.m. or at the call of the Chamber or Committee Leadership at Westmont Centre or via a hybrid meeting.
The Business & Membership Development Services Committee recommend the scope of work for 2024 include:
Membership Goals & Plan
Membership Campaign – Conduct two major membership campaigns (February and September) and an ongoing incentive membership campaign throughout the year.
Membership Dues – 2% dues increase (note, if a member pays by January 10th, then the 2% increase is waived.) Deadline of membership renewals will be March 31st. The entire payment, or first payment on a payment plan in writing, needs to be received by March 31st else the member will be dropped from the membership roll.
Membership Growth - Project 60 new members in 2024.
Membership Open House – Conduct two membership open house events (February 21st and September 18th). Continue to try new venues for these events.
Membership Retention – We project 85% retention for 2024.
Business Development Services
Train Station Display Case - Continue to offer the display case at the Westmont Metra Station to help area consumers better connect with WCCTB members.
Welcome Neighbor Program - This program will help promote our business community to new residents and businesses moving into Westmont.
Light Pole Banner Program - Offer business promotional program to the business community and to the Village of Westmont.
Community Guide - Develop and publish a 2025 Westmont Community Guide.
Business Focused Briefings/Webinars - Present a quarterly business focused briefing on topics that help our members succeed. The topics will include social media, money-smart and member related programs. This does not generate any revenue but does require staff hours to promote and market the event.
Business Services - The Chamber will offer business services to our members, use of office and meeting space, mail delivery and copy services
Economic Outlook Luncheon – Multi-Chamber event that is hosted by the Westmont Chamber. Event usually provides four components, networking, Business Expo, lunch and a presentation on the economic outlook for the year. This year’s event will be re-invented to include a presentation and sponsorship opportunities.
Membership Huddles – Present a quarterly opportunity for members to network and receive information on Chamber activities, events and programs.
Ribbon Cuttings - The Chamber will promote ribbon cuttings for new businesses and for anniversary events as a means to enhance the value of membership. Does not generate revenue, but is provided as a membership benefit.
Business After Hours - The Chamber will seek ten candidates for Business After Hours Events in 2024. We will understand this could be a virtual format, hybrid format or in-person. These events do not generate revenue but do support member engagement and retention. The events do require staff hours to plan and promote to our membership.
Member Huddle – The Chamber will offer a “New Member Huddle” each quarter for our newest members. The goal is to help new member “jumpstart” Chamber engagement, networking and overall understanding of all available resources as well as to offer new ideas.
Holly Days Parade Participation - Have a WCCTB presence in the Frosty and Friends Parade. This does not generate any revenue but does require staff hours to promote and market the event.
State of the County Address – Participate and support the State of the County address luncheon.
Multi-Chamber Economic Outlook Luncheon – Plan, coordinate, and host the Multi-Chamber Economic Outlook luncheon
State of the Village presentation – Plan, coordinate and host the State of the Village presentation for the Village of Westmont.
