Call to order: 8:11 a.m.
- Introductions, Agenda Additions & Approval of Minutes
All Attendees introduced themselves
There were no additions to the agenda and the August 5, 2022 minutes were approved by attendees.
II. New Business
- Presentation by The Birches-Mary Ferguson gave a history of The Birches. Jim Curto, owner and Jackie Sanders, Executive Director has been with the Birches for several years. The Birches has Montessori based care always asking the residents first for their input on community ideas. The Birches boosts 10,000 Italian Honey Bees
- Dementia friendly Westmont Updates and Action Plans-Mary Ferguson Mary gave an update on the work being done in the Westmont business community. Mary asked for an SRC sub-committee to assist with the training, and education for the Westmont community. A sub-committee was formed with Gaye Wagner, Mark Davis, Nancy Congdon, Julianne Rizzo, and Kate Cassidy. Mary will coordinate a meeting.
- Proposed 2023 SRC Scope of Work-Larry Forssberg
-SRC to host an After Hour for members and the community at the Downers Grove Township Senior Center in March or April on a Wednesday from 5-6:30.
- Additional New Business-None
III. Old Business
- Recap of the August Senior Expo-Very light turnout, participating businesses received several referrals, ¼ of the booths didn’t have anyone representing the company.
