Senior Resource Committee Meeting

Call to order: 8:?? a.m.
This was an informal final meeting of 2022 therefore there was not an agenda. The meeting was held at Egg Harbor in Hinsdale hosted by Independence-4-Seniors Home Care in Hinsdale.
Each attendee updated the committee on current events taking place in their businesses.
John Christiansen has a Medical Area for care and is hosting a weight loss program and Balance Class with the Westmont Park District.
Gaye Wagner mentioned the WBBR Kiwanis Breakfast on 12/3 at Gower School.
Julianne Rizzo is celebrating her 5th anniversary in business.
Mark Davis is hosting a monthly support group for caregivers on Tuesday, 12/13/22@5:00 p.m.
Mike Hensley is having a Xmas on the Square Thursday12/8@The Square from 6-8:00 p.m. He and his wife are baking cookies.
Karen Spencer recommended going to the DGT website for programs.
Larry Forssberg mentioned the Frosty and Friends Night Parade on 12/3@5:00 p.m. and Gaye Wagner is joining the Westmont Chamber Board of Directors effective 1/2023.
Larry Forssberg said there were no updates from Mary Ferguson on Dementia Friendly.
Dr. Karen Congdon, AuD. did not have any updates.
Larry Forssberg reviewed the Scope of Work and discussed the March 15, 2023 SRC and Chamber After Hour with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. Members will sign up for food donations and John will provide the bags.
Mark refreshed the plan for the May 4th and 5th After Hour and Expo. He will email the group on presentation topics.
At the January meeting guidelines for Chamber Member participation in the expo will be reviewed and discussed. (See the Motion in the November Minutes),
A MOTION was made by Mark Davis for the following guidelines to participate in the Westmont Community Guide and to participate in the SRC Expo:
The business must be a chamber member
The Business must attend 8 of 11 meetings in a rolling 12 month period
MOTION second by Mike Hensley and approved by all in attendance
It was agreed by the members that there would be a fee for NON-SRC member
To participate in the Westmont SRC Expo.
