DESCRIPTION:Following are some of the Stormwater-Infrastructure Referendum presentations that have been scheduled:\n\nFeb. 21\, 1pm - League of Women Voters Stormwater Presentation\n\nWestmont Library\, 428 N. Cass\n\nFeb. 26\, 8am - Westmont Chamber Stormwater Referendum Presentation\n\nWestmont Centre\, 1 S. Cass\n\nFeb. 26\, 6:30pm - Village of Westmont Stormwater Referendum Presentation\n\nVillage Hall\, 31 W. Quincy\n\nMarch 1\, 2pm Westmont Library Stormwater Referendum Presentation\n\nWestmont Library\, 428 N. Cass\n\nMarch 26\, 6:30pm - Village of Westmont Stormwater Referendum Presentation\n\nVillage Hall\, 31 W. Quincy\n\nThe Village has already held referendum presentations for the Maercker School District\, Westmont Lions Club\, and the Chamber Downtown Westmont Business Alliance. \n\nThe language for the referendum has been certified by DuPage County. The question on the ballot will read as follows:\n\nShall the corporate authorities of the Village of Westmont be authorized to levy a non-home rule sales tax at a rate of 1/2% solely for expenditures on a municipal stormwater management program and public infrastructure?\n\nRegistered Westmont voters can vote yes or no on the question. The Stormwater-Infrastructure Sales Tax Referendum will appear on the April 7\, 2015 Spring Election Ballot.\n\n Per the feedback we received from the majority of the community\, the Board decided to move forward with a Stormwater-Infrastructure Sales Tax Referendum."\n\nSpecifically\, the April referendum will ask voters to consider a local general sales tax of 1/2% (which is half a penny on the dollar). Per the wording in the referendum\, all monies generated by this sales tax would be dedicated to stormwater management and public infrastructure only.\n\nIf you have questions\, please contact us at communications@westmont.il.gov or 630-417-0280.
