Introductions were made by attendees. Along with many new attendees to chamber and new SRG members\n\n B. Host Introductions: In Home Caregivers of Illinois\n\n C. Approval of June Meeting Minutes without change\n\n \n\n2. Old Business\n\nA. Darien Expo on July 31st from 9:30am 2pm. at the Sportsplex \n\n\n Feedback from participants is that the expo was too long\n There was good traffic in the morning but then it fell off\n For the cost\, it was still worth it to get our names out to the community\n\nB. Mayslake Resident Expo Fall 2024\n\n\n Larry gave Mayslake dates of September 26\, October 17\, 24 or November 7th to choose from. \n We are recommending 9a-11a\, waiting to hear back from Mayslake\n\nC. Dementia Friendly: \n\n\n Memory Cafes going well\, getting assistance from SRG members\n May be doing some art focused activities at the Westmont Library\, asking Jim Gunther to take pictures again\n\nD. Alyssa Vejendia is working on SRG directory. Larry to send this out to the group so it can be updated.\n\n\n List to be used as a referral resource for SRG members\n Also use for SRG members to support and review each other's businesses\n Larry also recommended looking at your listing on the Westmont Chamber website to add in/update links to website or social media\n\n \n\n3. New Business\n\nA. Westmont Park District Fall Program Sponsorship opportunities Contact Alice Krampits if you are interested in sponsoring a program or placing an ad in the newsletter. Alice's information will be included in the SRG directory that Larry will be sending out. \n\nB. Scarecrow event in October have your business decorate a scarecrow and submit for voting\, an easy way to get involved in Westmont community events\, increase visibility in community at no cost\n\nC. Discuss at August meeting having SRG members participate in educational seminars at local libraries and other venues to improve relationships with communities we serve\n\nD. Some ideas that were discussed:\n\n\n Partner with each other to speak to the community/senior family members to educate them/not sell to them about services available\n Create a list of topics that the SRC can provide to share with libraries\n\n \n\n4. Upcoming Event Updates\n\n\n Dementia programming will start up again in September at local libraries. These events are for families/communities\, not for agency/facility staff\n October outing with the Westmont Fire Department\n December\, Frosty & Friends parade.
